We’re back from vacation! The store is open, we’re (slowly) processing a gazillion new books, and we can’t wait to see you.

If not today, how about tomorrow? The Jarvis Square Artisan Market will run 10-2 outside, and as usual, we’ll be open 11-6. We’ll also be selling books for a special event over at Taste Food & Wine…

THE UPTOWN Book Talk and Spanish Wine Tasting at Taste this Saturday

Local journalists Robert Loerzel (whom you might know from his plover baby documentation) and James A. Pierce have collaborated on a very special book about the history of the Uptown Theatre and efforts to restore it.

Tomorrow, Saturday August 9, they’ll be over at Taste Food & Wine from 12-3 for a book talk and Spanish wine tasting. We’ll have books over here as well as there, so please come on out to the Square!

Book Club Update: Two Dates to Choose From

The response to our first fiction book club has been fantastic, so we’ve created a second date to discuss Sakina’s Kiss. Please feel free to come to the store on either date: Tuesday, August 19, at 7 p.m. or Sunday, August 24 at 5 p.m. We can’t wait to talk about this novel!
