Early closure Friday 4/18

Dear Readers,

This is mostly just a quick note to let you know we’ll be closing early on Friday, April 18th, for a private event. We’ll be open from 12-3 on Friday, then back open as usual on Saturday.

While we’re here, though… National Poetry Month continues apace, and we’re thrilled that so many of you are availing yourselves of our 20% off deal on new poetry! That continues until the end of April, so please come in and see what’s new.

Speaking of which, we’ve done quite a bit of restocking lately, so if you haven’t been in for a while, you might want to come have a browse. And you might want to do it this week, if you’d prefer a little breathing room. Independent Bookstore Day is coming up on Saturday, April 26, and we expect our tiny store to be packed!

This will be the first for Jarvis Square Books, but typically, IBD is the biggest sales day of the year for indie booksellers. The northern bus route for the Chicago Bookstore Crawl is sold out, and other people will be attempting to achieve 10 or 15 stores via bike, public transit, and car. We’d love to see you next Saturday, but if you want to avoid the zoo, we get it! Why not drop by this weekend instead?
